Allendale County Inmate Records
No official Allendale County online jail roster was located in the official sources reviewed. That means recent arrest and county detention questions should be verified by phone with the Allendale Detention Center, not through unofficial jail-listing pages. The South Carolina Sheriffs' Association lists the Allendale County Sheriff's Office and gives a detention center phone number. The county agencies page also lists the Sheriff's Department at 3489 Allendale Fairfax Hwy, Fairfax, South Carolina.
The county jail track is different from the state-prison track. A person arrested in Allendale County may be held pretrial, held briefly for bond, moved for court, or released before appearing in any statewide prison system. A sentenced state prisoner is searched through SCDC. Allendale Correctional Institution is located in Fairfax, but it is a state prison, not the county jail. A search for an "Allendale inmate" can therefore mean two very different things.
The SCDC inmate search disclaimer explains the scope of the statewide inmate search.
That disclaimer is the key source for understanding why a county detainee may not appear in SCDC search results.
Search Allendale County Inmates
Use the custody status to choose the correct search path. If the person was just arrested by Allendale County law enforcement, call the county detention number first. If the person has been sentenced to SCDC, use the statewide SCDC incarcerated inmate search or the toll-free inmate information line. If the person is in federal custody, use the federal inmate locator instead of county or state prison tools.
- For a recent Allendale County arrest, call Allendale Detention Center at 803-584-4616 and ask whether the person is currently housed there.
- For sheriff office questions, call the Allendale County Sheriff's Office at 803-584-7067 and use the person's full name and date of birth.
- For sentenced state custody, use the SCDC inmate search and search by SCDC number, SID, or name when available.
- For Allendale Correctional Institution questions, confirm that the person is actually in SCDC custody before using prison visitation, mail, or money rules.
- For a booking record copy that is not online, use a request to the sheriff or the appropriate elected official, subject to privacy and investigation limits.
For charge status after arrest, the court side may appear separately through the Public Index or court clerk. Jail custody status does not prove conviction, and a court docket does not always prove current jail housing.
Allendale County Inmate Search Fields
The research did not find a county jail roster portal, so no official Allendale County jail search-field table exists to render. SCDC does provide a statewide inmate search channel for sentenced prisoners. The research safely confirmed SCDC number, SID, and name-search concepts, but the dynamic interface did not expose every field label in static inspection.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options / Format Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| SCDC number | Text | Optional if SID or name is known | Use when the state prison number is available. |
| SID | Text | Optional if SCDC number or name is known | State Identification number. |
| Name search fields | Text | Unspecified | Dynamic page was not fully inspectable; do not rely on guessed labels. |
| Submit | Button | N/A | Runs the SCDC search. |
The SCDC public inmate search is for current SCDC custody, not Allendale County jail booking status.
If a person does not appear in SCDC, call the county detention center before assuming there is no custody record.
Allendale County Inmate Profile Limits
No official county jail roster profile was available, and no named SCDC inmate profile was inspected. The safe field inventory is therefore limited. The SCDC disclaimer says the search displays photographs and public information for inmates currently sentenced to and incarcerated in SCDC as of midnight the previous day. It does not provide information for offenders released from SCDC, sentenced to county detention facilities, or under parole, probation, or other community supervision.
| Field or Item | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Photograph | SCDC says public search displays photographs for current sentenced SCDC inmates. |
| Public inmate information | Basic public information for current SCDC custody, subject to the disclaimer. |
| Midnight status scope | SCDC states the public search reflects inmates incarcerated as of midnight the previous day. |
| Released offender status | SCDC search does not provide released-offender information. |
| County detainees | SCDC search does not replace Allendale County detention contact for county jail custody. |
| Community supervision | Parole, probation, and other community supervision are outside the SCDC inmate search scope. |
Data errors or discrepancies in SCDC results may be reported to Ombudsman@doc.sc.gov, according to the SCDC disclaimer.
Allendale County Jail Facilities
The official sources identify the sheriff, county detention phone, and the state prison in Fairfax. They do not publish a county jail roster, jail capacity, visitation schedule, or vendor list. The practical approach is to confirm the facility first, then ask that facility for current rules. A county detainee and a state prisoner can have different mail rules, money systems, phone vendors, visitation approval steps, and package limits.

This state-prison listing should not be confused with the Allendale County detention center contact used for recent arrests.
Allendale County Booking Records
Booking records are law-enforcement or detention records, not the same thing as a final criminal court record. A booking may involve an arresting agency, booking date, initial charge description, warrant or ticket number, and bond information, but the research did not locate an official Allendale jail roster showing those fields. For charge details that move into court, check the Public Index or the Clerk of Court. For custody status, call detention.
After arrest, a person may have a bond or first-appearance issue in Magistrate Court or Bond Court. The Allendale Magistrate Court is listed at 398 Barnwell Highway, Allendale, SC 29810-2744, with phone 803-584-3755. Bond Court is listed at 168 Law Enforcement Court, Fairfax, SC 29827-9012, with the same phone and fax. Those courts may be relevant when an arrest leads to bond, court date, or warrant questions.
Booking and court records can update on different schedules. Detention staff may know whether the person is housed in county custody before the court docket shows a new event. The Public Index may show a filed charge or court date even after a person has bonded out, been transferred, or had custody status change. Ask for the case or ticket number when detention staff can provide it, then use that number with the court listed on the paperwork.
Note: A jail booking is not proof that the person was convicted or that the charge stayed the same after solicitor review.
Allendale County Inmate Visitation
Official Allendale County detention-center visitation, mail, commissary, money-deposit, video-visit, and phone-vendor rules were not found. Do not send money, mail, packages, photos, books, or forms until the facility and custody status are confirmed. For the county detention side, call 803-584-4616. For state-prison custody at Allendale Correctional Institution, use SCDC family resources and the institution phone numbers.
| Topic | Officially Found? | Practical Instruction |
|---|---|---|
| In-person visitation schedule | No | Call Allendale Detention Center before visiting. |
| Video visitation | No | No official vendor link was located. |
| Visitor ID rules | No | Ask detention staff what photo ID is required. |
| Mail address format | No | Do not invent an inmate-number format; call first. |
| Money deposits | No | No official kiosk or online provider was located. |
| Attorney visits | No | Attorneys should call detention or sheriff staff for procedure. |
Important: County detention and SCDC state-prison rules are different, so confirm the facility before sending mail or funds.
Contact Allendale County Inmates
For county detention, ask the detention center whether the person is housed there, what exact name and booking number should be used on mail, whether visits are in person or video, what days and times are available, what ID is required, and whether minors can visit. Ask which company, if any, handles phone, video, commissary, or money deposits. The research did not verify a vendor, so no vendor should be named without current jail confirmation.
A useful phone script is specific. Ask whether the person is in Allendale County custody, whether the person is waiting on bond court or a transport, what the next court date is if staff can share it, and whether mail is currently accepted. Ask whether visits are suspended for medical quarantine, lockdown, court transport, or housing status. If the answer points to SCDC instead of county detention, switch to SCDC rules before sending anything.
For SCDC custody, use the SCDC family information page. SCDC provides statewide guidance for mail, money, telephone calls, visitation, packages, and inmate search resources. It also lists a general information number, 803-896-8500, for questions not listed.
SCDC family rules apply to state prisoners, not automatically to Allendale County jail detainees.
State and Federal Inmate Searches
Some custody searches are outside Allendale County. A sentenced state inmate belongs in the SCDC system. A federal inmate belongs in the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. A person held for another county, extradition, probation, parole, or a federal detainer may not fit neatly into a county jail roster or SCDC public result. Ask detention staff which agency controls the hold.
Allendale County also has local public-defense and solicitor contacts that may matter after an arrest. The South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense lists Allendale County public defender contacts for eligible defendants, while the Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor handles prosecution in General Sessions. Those offices do not run the jail roster, but they may appear in the court record after charges are filed.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator is the correct search channel for federal prison custody.
Federal custody is separate from Allendale County detention and South Carolina state prison custody.
